Knee Deep In The Holy Spirit

Today we will study Ezekiel’s vision as described in verse 47:1-4). In this vision he had a guide to go through. This vision predicts the beginning of the Church after the resurrection of Christ, and explains the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian that will determine our spiritual growth and our relationship with our Father in Heaven. I see New Christians every day anxious – even impatient to grow and receive all God’s blessings. – If it’s you, or you’ve lost what you had, listen to what I have to say next.

The Holy Spirit lives in every believer when they are born again. Growth is greatly increased when the believer surrenders himself to Christ and is filled with the control of the Holy Spirit. A believer who is empowered by the Holy Spirit and is a faithful student of God’s Word, who has learned to trust and obey God, can go through different stages of spiritual growth and become a mature Christian in a short time. — Some Spirit-filled Christians show more of the fruit of the Spirit within a year than others who have not been trained, or are uncommitted believers for fifty years.

Ezekiel 47:1. “After that he brought me back to the door of the house (the Temple) and look, water was coming out from under the door of the house to the east; the water came down from the right side of the house, on the south side of the altar. The water referred to here is the Water of Life – or the Holy Spirit.

We are deeply filled with the Holy Spirit as we study and devote ourselves to God’s Word. This water came from God through the church and on earth. It is from Him that living water flows.

Ezekiel 47:3 BL92 – And when the man with the rope in his hand came out from the east, he measured a thousand cubits, and led me into the water; the water reached the feet. The water apparently came out from under the East Gate as a small stream that ran a thousand cubits, less than a third of a mile. Then Ezekiel writes: “The man… (This represents the place where the New Convert or Baby Christian walks)

Ezekiel 47:4 He weighed a thousand more, and led me on the water; the water reached his knees. He measured a thousand more, and pierced me; the water was up to the waist. (This represents Spiritual growth and maturity as we walk deeper with the Holy Spirit).

The further the water went, the deeper it became. Among other things, it represents our continued walk with the Lord because, as we walk in the living Water and experience more of the Holy Spirit, we realize that his gift of grace and love is abundant and limitless.

THE ANKLE DEEP CHRISTIAN — This is the place where we build our foundation. This is why my church conducts a special 13-week class that teaches the basics of the Christian life to new converts. (Building a Sustainable Foundation).

At the time of salvation we receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. However, it is up to each person to find out more about the Holy Spirit that we want to fill our lives with.

Ezekiel 47:3 Represents the New Christian entering ankle-deep Living Water. But you have to keep walking, and downstream, through ankle-deep water if you expect to grow to maturity. You will see in verse 4 that as you walk down the river the water will begin to deepen.

Yet we see many Christians, new and old, walking across the river instead. They come on Sunday morning, go down from the beaches to the water, and then go back to the beaches as they leave the church. We have a good goal of getting people to start our Firm Foundations class, but they don’t come often. Some people don’t come to Sunday School Class – and they just come to Sunday morning service – without praying or reading their Bible – and then they wonder why their lives are stagnant, or they don’t receive all the blessings of God. These people are not foot deep – they are just putting a toe in the water. To grow, they must walk on the ground – explore the ground.

We allow our small problems to grow into big problems through our “fixation”, and lack of faith in God’s Word,

We allow a “simple disagreement” to escalate into a serious conflict that leads to broken friendships or broken families. – But if we were walking in the Spirit and having a good relationship with God – it would be “just a disagreement”.

Our faith grows by walking in the Spirit, and receiving the Word. But how many of us open our Bibles even for just a few minutes a day to receive His glory?

We can have as much of the Holy Spirit as we want. All we have to do is get in the water and walk down the river.

This river is there for each of us. It’s your choice or choice to step in and have the wisdom and desire to walk the walk. Sometimes it requires sacrifice.

Spiritual maturity is determined by our willingness to give up our desires for the things of God’s Kingdom, or for the sake of others.

“They measured one thousand again, and pierced me in the water, the water reached my knees, and measured one thousand, and pierced me, the water reached my waist.” ” (This represents Spiritual growth and maturity as we walk deeper with the Holy Spirit).

This is what the Holy Spirit does in the lives of those who surrender to Him. We begin to see His grace as a small stream that flows from Christ – a Fountain of Water, and it continues to grow in value as we walk daily in the light of His Word.

Ezekiel 47:7 “When I returned, I saw on the banks of the river many trees on this side and on the other side.

When Ezekiel came out of waist deep water he was surprised to see on both sides of the river there were healthy trees full of fruits. (This represents the multitude of mature Christians in the church who were teaching the Word and bearing new fruit.) This is where the church will be at some point before Christ comes.

(Galatians 5:22, 23) “But when the Holy Spirit rules our lives, he will produce fruits of this kind in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, restraint.”

When we grow these fruits into mature Christians — broken marriages are repaired, – forgiveness comes easy, – telling others about Jesus is an obsession, – we have found the patience to stand and let God enter. our lives, God’s love is manifested through us through our good works, – our self-control is strengthened to receive the strength to resist temptation, – we have the desire to serve God for his glory, the strength to have joy, peace, and contentment no matter what about our situation. (How good could life be?)

But in order to receive those things, we must enter the river of “Living Water” that Ezekiel saw in his vision, and walk continuously until all the fruits grow in our lives. When the Holy Spirit controls our lives, we long for the knowledge that is available to us through the Word of God. We raise our hands and voice in praise when we sing to him in our congregational prayers. We have a desire to be like Jesus.

If you are a Christian and your life has lost control, when you are worried, you are struggling with temptation. Or you have a problem that you can’t stop. If you can’t find joy and peace, then you’re out of the water, and you need to get back in. fruits will not grow. Then ask God to give you the strength to move forward. We must keep walking until we receive enough of the Holy Spirit and the Word to grow those fruits. We can have as much of the Holy Spirit as we want. All we have to do is keep walking.

Ezekiel 47:7 represents the multitude of mature Christians who were teaching the Word and bearing new fruit. Thousands of people are beginning to bring others to Christ through “Bridge Ministries”.
