Movie Review – The Theatre Bizarre (2012) (Not Rated)

Anthology of Horrors

The Theater Bizarre it has seven directors, nine screenwriters, and nineteen characters with different backgrounds to their names. It’s a horror anthology, you see, with six shorts and one spin-off. All together, it’s like a horrible laboratory monster sewn together by people with no scientific, medical, or even engineering skills. As a separate matter, the parts are rotten, as if they had been removed for months after death. Only one piece is a new model; is a true, inspiring, and touching short story that explores the darkness of life and honor. It’s the only part that has feelings, so I think of it as the heart of the film – harvested from the body of a good person and carefully preserved in a glass jar.

The set pieces, directed by Jeremy Kasten, were designed as theater in an abandoned theater. The only person who seems to be part of the audience is a troubled young woman (Virginia Newcomb), who lives across the street in a bedroom with tattered and tattered furniture draped over the walls. On the stage there is a series of actors caked with unusual makeup; they are designed to resemble automatons, and their motionless movements are enhanced by a combination of sound effects. The emcee (Udo Kier), whose stories are the nonsense of stories and speakers, becomes more natural as the short films progress. The girl in the audience, meanwhile, is unnatural in appearance. Even if they are well designed, the surrounding areas do not have enough connection between the stories and are only there to look at.

Short 1: Mother of Frogs, directed by Richard Stanley. Martin (Shane Woodward) and Karina (Victoria Maurette) are a young couple on vacation in France. Karina buys pentagram earrings from a creepy old lady (Catriona MacColl), who catches Martin’s attention by saying she has a copy of Necronomicon. Karina, disinterested, goes to the gym. Martin walks through the countryside to the old woman’s house, which looks like a castle you’d see on an archeology tour. I can’t make heads or tails of the rest of the episode, other than to say there’s a lot of sex, scary transformations, and lots of frogs.

Summary 2: I love you, directed by Buddy Giovinazzo. In Berlin (a ruined place since everyone speaks English), a French woman named Mo (Suzan Anbeh) decides to leave her German boyfriend, Axel (Andre Hennicke). It has a lot to do with the fact that he’s obsessed and weird; In short, he enjoys being unfaithful. He explains this to her in a calm and direct conversation that is not only sarcastic and unpleasant. What can we make of the fact that, two episodes into the episode, Axel wakes up from the floor of his bathtub with a bare hand wound and blood everywhere?

Short 3: Wet Dreams, directed by Tom Savini. Here is a sinister Freudian piece that constantly tricks the audience into blurring the line between reality and dream. A violent and unfaithful man named Donnie (James Gill) sees a psychologist (Savini) about his recurring dreams. One, his wife’s owner is a monster crab. On the other hand, his penis is served to him for breakfast. Most of the time is of Donnie waking up screaming, making it impossible to keep his dreams alive. The final scene, which unfairly changed everything I thought I had learned, begins with his wife (Debbie Rochon) waking up from a nightmare.

Short 4: Danger, directed by Douglas Buck. This is the only good part in the whole movie. It’s so good, in fact, that it’s a wonder everyone thinks it’s in this movie. It is the heart that I mentioned earlier. It deals with an unpleasant subject, but it is not a terrible story; it’s about a mother (Lena Kleine) explaining to her daughter (Melodie Simard) about death. It passes between their sleep in bed and the scene of the accident, where the girl sees the death of a motorcyclist by a deer on the highway. The girl is not confused, but wants to understand the meaning. A mother feeds her child according to his age, always knowing that, in reality, some things cannot be explained.

Short 5: Vision drops, directed by Karim Hussain. A woman known as The Writer (Kaniehtiio Horn) hunts down women with chronic and drug addictions, kills them, and drains water from their eyes. He then pours the liquid into his eye and remembers many things about the victims, which he then writes down in a single-use notebook. His house, a hideous warehouse, contains piles and piles of these writings, which must make him one of the greatest murderers in history. Then he saw a pregnant woman and wondered what the fetus was seeing. Do I need to explain this again?

Short 6: Sweets, directed by David Gregory. Here is a part so strange that it seems to have been adapted from another universe. It starts out as a romantic comedy, where an unsympathetic woman (Lindsay Goranson) holds a melting ice cream cone while her boyfriend (Guilford Adams) picks up candy, which has been crushed on the floor. It’s food porn, the woman dressed as a fashion model refuses and goes to a restaurant that looks like an art gallery. A band plays as people are handed plates of nondescript food, which they pick up and greedily put into their mouths. Inexplicably, it turns into a murder-fest, and one is torn apart before being devoured by the ravenous creatures. This section alone proves that The Theater Bizarre it’s a really fitting name. I feel sorry for Douglas Buck. The summary was more appropriate than being part of a bad anthology.
