Babes & Babies – How They Influence and Impact Black Men

In the movie I Think I Love My Wife , comedian and actor Chris Rock plays an asexual husband and loving father who develops a crush on an old college girlfriend he meets (played by Kerry Washington). They start dating and his friendship with her sparks romantic passions that interfere with his marriage and his career.

When he becomes dizzy with lust and begins to fail at his job at a well-known investment firm where he works, his boss talks to him openly and gives him some serious advice: “You can lose a lot of money chasing women…but you can’t lose women chasing money.”

If only black boys would follow this advice as they grow up. Such a focus can prevent the development of potential and values that lead them astray and seek validation in other ways.

Traditionally, black boys (especially those with a high or high profile) feel how many girls they can expect to have, break their hearts, or how they will be “lady killers” before they learn. tie their shoes.

With the seeds of confusion planted very early in their fertile minds, predicting that they will be “heartbroken” in the future, black boys create little goals that seek to affirm, strengthen, and prioritize babies.

Authenticity proves that they are truly attracted to the opposite sex. Binding is what allows them to rise above the male competitors in their age group; allowing for the development of self-esteem and a sense of self-worth. Prioritizing is a key part of how he spends the time he spends looking for and winning over women.

Taken together, they form the source of many of the problems that plague black families. I call it babies and babies: black men who are driven by the pursuit of babies and avoid the responsibility of caring for their children in the process.

For many of these young men who become young men with this disease, it is difficult to change their mind. After all, if you are frequently asked how many girlfriends you have while growing up, it creates an unconscious expectation. Due to the fact that many of your peers are participating in the activity, and thereby encouraging similar behavior, our young black boys have access to their player cards before they receive their library cards.

Even though friends and family tell them to “settle down” as they get older (now grown men), it takes time (and often drama) for them to start realizing their bad habits. It’s not that they can’t help, they often don’t know how – especially after spending their whole lives as gay men whose self-confidence and self-esteem are linked to the validation they receive from the conquest of women. .

Breaking habits and changing the way we think is very difficult for all of us, but for the players of the world, it is even more difficult. It doesn’t just happen because they feel “it’s time,” or because they feel like they’re “getting old,” it happens when defeating babies no longer has the influence, power, validation, or meaning it once did. . Then, and only then, can there be real moral change.

Some transition smoothly from boys to men. They are those who may not have bought into the “gamer’s mentality” because they were led or watched from a young age by parents, they had confusing cultures, or they played games and their awareness made them change their ways; thus preventing infants and toddlers syndrome.

Those who cling to the predatory ideology of using women to build, feed, or support their egos into adulthood have many victims who contribute to the economic woes of today’s black families.

It’s a very big problem.

How dangerous? SAVE AMERICA Ministries published Black Family Portrait 2007: Down to Destruction! in which the following statistics were recorded:

-70% of all black children are born out of wedlock.

-62% of black families with children are headed by a single parent.

-85% of black children do not live in the home with their father.

– Only 15-20% of black children born today will grow up with two parents until the age of 16.

-70% of African-American youth involved in gangs come from single-parent homes.

-50% of all people with AIDS are in the black group, which comprises only 12% of the population.

-85% of all AIDS cases in Atlanta are black women.

-African Americans are 20 times more likely than whites to develop gonorrhea.

-AIDS is now the #1 killer of black women, ages 25-44.

-67% of black women with AIDS contracted HIV through same-sex intercourse.

– Black men in America are involved in polygamous relationships, 3 1/2 times that of Whites or Hispanics.

-About 2 million black men are in or have been in state or federal prison.

-By age 30, only 52% of black women will be married compared to 81% of white women, 77% of Hispanics and Asians.

James Flynn, who claims to be famous for the much-discussed “Flynn Effect” in which he writes about an increase in black IQs by about 15 percent, published the following facts related to the end of black marriages in New Scientist.

Government statistics show that at birth there are 104 black boys for every 100 girls. Between the ages of 25 and 45, 6 more men die than women, and 98 men for every 100 women. Of the 98 men, nine are in prison, eight are missing and 21 work less than half time.

That leaves 60 “reliable” black men – men who are alive, employed and not convicted of a crime. Also note that black men who pledge to have a non-black partner outnumber white men who have a black partner by a factor of three. That leaves only 57 black men for every 100 women who are likely to have a long-term partner. Out of 100 black women, 43 are faced with the choice of having a child with a black man who can’t have children or not – assuming they (a) want to get married, and (b) want to have children.

It is compelling information. Is that correct? The damage that can be seen in the broken black families headed by single mothers is said to be so. Also, just witnessing the number of promiscuous black men who continue to celebrate their masculinity through procreation rather than active and full parental involvement in their children’s lives, is yet another testimony.

When black men can find importance and meaning in their lives internally they are less dependent on external events to lift themselves up, or fill a void. He can find pride, peace, and salvation in the sanctity of marriage, and the joy of fatherhood if he chooses to value it.

Which brings me back to the movie I Think I Love My Wife.

When Chris Rock’s character reveals his passion for his long-lost girlfriend, he agrees to have a “goodbye fling”. When he arrived at his place, he continued to think about what he had decided to do. She opens the door in her most revealing underwear and clearly confirms what she has decided to do with it. He sees himself in the mirror with a tie on his head and is reminded of his daughter (who in the previous scene is playing romantically). It’s a moment of reckoning for him. She regroups and leaves without becoming a victim of babies and toddlers.
