Holguin is an important tourist destination with some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The golden sands and clear blue sea is surrounded by thick verdant green vegetation which offers a magnificent contrast of colours. Holguin is famous as the landing place of Christopher Columbus who said ‘This is the most beautiful land human eyes have ever seen’. Apart from the amazing beaches Holguin offers many places of great historical and cultural interest.

Jardines del Rey is a group of keys, islands and islets consisting of Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo, Turiguano, Laguna de la Leche, La Redonda, La Trocha and Moron. Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo where made famous by Ernest Hemmingway’s ‘Islands in the Stream’ and ‘The Old Man and the Sea’ and still remain the ecological paradises that he wrote about in his books.

Santiago de Cuba is renowned for its friendly people and its rich historical and cultural background. Located in the east of the region, the mountainous environment and coastal paths of Santiago de Cuba are ideal for visitors wishing to explore the island on foot or you can just wander around the city’s many streets which are filled with history and music.

Pinar del Rio is a place of natural beauty with two of the six World Biosphere Reserves located here. Pinar del Rio offers the Vinales Valley, Las Terrazas tourist complex, an orchid centre and waterfall at Soroa, the Laguna Grande dam for fishing, the ruins of a French coffee plantation, the Santo Tomas Cave system and much more.

Cayo Largo del Sur is an island with unspoilt beaches stretching for over 14 miles which are protected by beautiful coral reefs and is considered to be one of the best places for diving and nautical activities.

Trinidad de Cuba is like a living museum sitting between the sea and the mountains. The city was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988 and along with its history, culture and friendly people is like a city lost in time.

Havana (La Habana), according to Ernest Hemmingway is a city whose beauty is only surpassed by Paris and Venice. Havana is a bustling city with great hotels, beautiful beaches, colonial architecture and plenty of entertainment for visitors on their late deals to Cuba.

Varadero (Matanzas) is most famous for its beach, hotels, lively entertainment, golf, water sports and much more. Average temperatures here are 25C with 12 hours of sunshine a day.

Cienfuegos (known as the Perla del Sur or Pearl of the South), is home to one of the most beautiful and safe bays in the world. Here you will find a well preserved historical centre, plenty of water sports and land activities, good hotel facilities and never ending entertainment opportunities.

Santa Clara is closely linked to Che Guevara and attracts many visitors wanting to visit the memorial built in his honour. The Che Guevara Mausoleum is where the bodies of Che and his troops, who died in the battle in Bolivia, are buried. Other attractions in the area include Cayo Santa Maria which has beautiful sandy beaches and clear azure waters which are perfect for scuba diving and underwater photography.

Santa Lucia is the main tourist destination of Camaguey. The 13 mile long beach here is protected by the longest coral reef on Cuba’s north east coast and is home to a well preserved ecosystem habitat of pink flamingos.

Granma is home to the amazing Sierra Maestra mountain range, more than 40 archaeological sites, nearly 40 miles of explorable caves and dark coloured sandy beaches.

In the province of Las Tunas there are good hotels, unspoilt vegetation and fine stretches of fine cream-coloured sandy beaches.

Guantanamo is the home of Baracoa which is a mountainous area with beaches, rivers and beautiful valleys.

Cuba’s climate is moderately subtropical and predominately warm. The island enjoys average temperatures of around 26C with 330 days of sunshine a year. Cuba has two seasons; dry season from November to April and the rainy season from May to October.
