It took Seiko 28 years to create the first Spring Drive watch. To make the Spring Drive dream come true, all of SEIKO’s expertise in timekeeping has been applied to traditional and electronic circles.

This Spring Drive Seiko watch is a classic mechanical watch. All mechanical watches use a spring as a power source, but the internal mechanism and operation of the Spring Drive is very unique and unusual. It is made using a 300-year-old mechanical escapement technique for time management. The result is a watch that avoids the old problems, associated with mechanical escapements such as hairpins, fragile wheels, forks, and flywheels.

The Seiko Spring Drive watch is fully automatic and does not need to be replaced or battery charged. It is an automatic watch that uses modern technology to control and measure time. Like other mechanical watches to maintain power, it uses a mainspring, a barrel, an independent movement and a winding mechanism.
