Are you a sleepy new mom? One of the hardest things about being a new mom is the lack of sleep. Here are some helpful tips to get your beautiful baby to sleep through the night.
1.]Teach them the difference between day and night. Many newborns slept in their mother’s womb all day and feasted at night. I know I sure did. So when they are born they are always on this schedule. So when they wake up make sure you communicate with them as much as possible. Even if it means sitting with them and reading them your new magazine. Make sure the rooms are nice and bright during the day. And at night make sure their room is nice and dark and when they wake up don’t play with them. Whisper softly, feed them, and put them back down
2.]I know the number one thing that has worked for me is swaddling. It doesn’t always work for some babies. But the favorite feels tight and snug because it reminds them of their mother’s womb. My favorite baby shower gift was my Velcro swaddlers. They saved my life.
3.]Develop a routine. When it’s dark turn the lights in your house low. Give them a nice big bottle. Give them a nice warm bath followed by a massage with soothing baby lotion. Then read a book in a sweet whisper. Do this every day and your baby will recognize that it is bedtime when you start doing these things.
