How I Cured My Heel and Arch Pain Caused by Plantar Fasciitis
HEEL PAIN, AXIS PAIN, AXIS FEET.
I had these problems a while ago. I was called Plantar Fasciitis and the pain was centered in the arch of my foot. Specifically, the pain was between the ball of my foot and my heel. Sometimes, my heels would hurt too. There were days that it was difficult to walk because there would be stabs of pain as I took each step and let me tell you, it was not a pleasant experience.
WHAT HAPPENED
When I started having foot pain a few years ago, I had no idea what it was. Then I thought maybe it had something to do with the fact that I started jogging and taking long walks around my neighborhood. The pain was so severe that I was actually limping around the house and could not sleep at night. Sometimes, when I walk, there was a pain in the arch of my foot that made my life miserable.
It seemed to help if I pressed hard on both the arches of my feet with my toes but how could I possibly do that all night or all day? So I tied some handkerchiefs around the arches of my feet and that helped a lot. I discovered that there is an arch brace you could buy online or in some stores but in my experience, the bandana works just as well. Also, you could put duct tape around your arch, but unless you want to get instant hair removal when you remove that tape, the hankie is still a better option.
PLANT WHAT?
The pain continued for days and eventually the days turned into weeks. Finally after many weeks of walking like an old man, I went to see a podiatrist or foot doctor. The doctor knew right away after I told him what happened. PLANT FASCIITIS. Yes, it’s a tongue twister quite. PLANT WHAT? I wished it hadn’t planted on my feet in the first place.
Plantar Fasciitis (PLAN-TUR-Fas-eI-tis) is apparently one of the most common causes of heel pain and/or arch pain among joggers, marathoners, or long walkers. Inside our feet is the plantar fascia which is a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of our feet. It connects the heel to the bones. In my case, the plantar fascia was inflamed and perhaps some fibrous tissue was torn. I didn’t know that my sudden decision to be fit would have some negative consequences. Imagine that.
THE SOLUTION
Here are the exercises I did to minimize the pain:
1) Sit on my heels with the toes bent
2) Sit cross-legged on a chair and bend my toes up with my hands
3) Sit on the floor with a towel wrapped around one right leg (towel is around the arch of my foot) and pull as hard as I can.
4) Stand against a wall with one leg extended and the foot also extended
5) Sit – point your toes, then bend your legs back, stretch your toes, bend your legs back in a series of consecutive movements.
With these exercises and special shoes, the pain disappeared eventually. It is not a quick treatment to heal but I know that you will too in time. I hope that the exercises that I have shown here and the tools that I have used will also help you.
Thank you!
How good is cheap.
