Starting Back at School With Bach Flower Remedies
Do you still remember the mixture of excitement and nerves as you prepared to go back to school after the long summer vacation? Someone get you new shoes and school clothes and maybe a haircut so you’re smart and ready to go. You’ve got a new stationary and a new bag and a sense of hope to do. Everyone asks you about the school, what room you will be in, who your teacher will be and you start to feel the importance of what is to come.
The first day back and breakfast was a little difficult to eat because of the butterflies in your stomach. You arrive at school and the first thing that hits you is the smell – new floors, fresh powder and disinfectant! Then there was a noise – echoey halls, doors slamming, teachers’ shoes tied to the wooden floor, happy voices and a teacher shouting to be heard above the din! You get in line and enter your new classroom. Your teacher tells you where to sit, you weigh the teacher and the person sitting next to you – like it or not – and then your new school year begins!
You either love it or your stomach drops in your boots when you remember what it was like.
It’s the same for your children. In the rush to get all the plans for the school in place it is easy to see what they will think. Making sure your child is ready for school is just as important as making sure their shoes fit.
Talking helps obviously, but if your child is really scared or lacks confidence, what can you do? You feel helpless and frustrated that they are having a hard time and you can’t do anything about it. That’s where Bach Flower Remedies come in.
Bach Flower Remedies are amazing in the way they help your child cope with stress. They are safe, without side effects and chemicals and, best of all, they work very quickly! Children like to take pills and often make up their own names for them – ‘my bath water’, ‘my confidence is falling,’ or ‘my Simba’s poop’ are some examples.
To get the best results, they should start taking the medication about a month before school returns so that the treatment can work properly. Put 2 drops of each flower remedy in a drink or water and do this 4 times a day. To help you remember, it’s good to put the drops around mealtimes or routines. For example, breakfast, lunch, dinner and sleep. If your child is taking tea for school put it in a bottle to drink with their juice.
Here are some Bach flower remedies that will help your child stay in school and learn well:
Mimulus – for any fear or anxiety they may register about school. Examples of fear: going back to school, changing classes, certain teachers, children who are bullied, eating in a loud supermarket, not knowing what to do, not knowing where to go which, not knowing where to take a bath, spoke out. in class, getting things wrong, being laughed at, kids not wanting to be friends with them, getting into trouble and so on. If your child can name the fear, they should take Mimulus. It is also a remedy for shyness, blushing and stammering.
Mimulus will help them not to be afraid. This is different from being brave – being brave means you have to be brave because you are still afraid. Mimulus removes the fear so that you are in a state of neutrality.
Larch – for lack of confidence. If your child has low self-esteem or lacks confidence in their abilities; if they quickly give up on things; if they say “I can’t do… math, spelling, Spanish etc”; if they drop a course when they have low test scores; if they always want you around; if they won’t do something for themselves and want you to do it for them like calling a friend; if they don’t try because they think they will fail; if they always compare themselves to their friends; if they are a second born child and feel less than a grown child; if they struggle in relationships or in new experiences.
Larch will give them confidence without worrying about failure and will help them improve their skills. It will help them get social skills, be friends and not need you all the time. When they face obstacles or get ‘discovered’ in some school subject they will try again and never give up. Larch opened the world because “I can’t” is no longer part of their mindset.
Chestnut Bud – help them learn from their mistakes. This is a great remedy for children who have learning difficulties or blocks with certain subjects. I use it with my son to help him with his writing and it is a great help for children with dyslexia.
Combine this with the TFT exercise of tapping PR space to get great results. Have your child tap the karate chop part of one hand with the fingers of the other – as if one hand is clapping the other hand. This releases energy blocks that make learning difficult. For example: it helps if you have left and right mixed up or if you say the opposite of what you mean; it helps you find a word for writing; it helps if you forget something; It helps if you type or write words in ‘worng ordre!’
Chestnut Bud helps if your child is careless or ignorant; if they keep repeating the same mistakes; if they don’t listen in class; if they learn slowly; if their hearts are always two steps ahead; if they have an attitude they should be broken.
The treatment will help them to have a good heart, pay attention, pay attention and love learning.
Chicory – if your child is clingy, has or causes inappropriate emotions. Some children find it hard to bond with Mom and Dad when they start school – and some parents find it hard to let go! When I was teaching, I saw the children benefiting from the hands of their parents as they both held back tears for each other. If you feel this way then you and your child should take this medicine!
If your child needs Chicory they will be able to hang out with their friends and be sulky or sick if their friends play with others. They may be opinionated and argumentative and use a bit of emotional blackmail. “I will be friends with you if…” I will love you if…” If Chicory wanted, the relationship would be very dangerous.
Chicory will help your child to love unconditionally and be independent and independent.
Walnut – to cope with change. Walnut is there to help with all the changes that come with a new school year. It will help your child adjust to a new classroom, a new teacher, a new routine, a new school or a new neighborhood. It will help to break the relationship with the past like “But I love my old teacher, I want to get back with him!” or “I want to go to my old school!” Walnuts help them move and change.
This therapy is also useful if your child is easily distracted by other people or is ‘under the spell’ of a strong personality. It helps them to be true to themselves and follow what they know is right.
White Chestnut – for worrying about school that stops them from sleeping. If your child is sleeping through the night and struggling to fall asleep or staying awake at night because they are worried about something, White Chestnut will help them feel calm. Couple it with Rescue Remedy for a good night’s sleep.
White Chestnut is for those uncontrollable worries that go around and around your head like stuck files. The drug gives you excellent concentration, the mind is calm and worries are replaced with positive thoughts.
Bach Flower Remedies will give your child the best start in their new school year by taking away all their worries and giving them confidence!
