Parents – If You Love Your Kids Choose Not To Drink Alcohol
Choose not to drink alcohol for the health and safety of your children!
A NEW RULE! A WISE decision!
Why would a parent, who might like to drink alcohol, choose not to drink?
They know what will happen in their future, if they drink alcohol and their children follow their example.
Good parents refuse to encourage, help or model alcoholism that could kill their child. They know that both models don’t work! Tell your child not to drink alcohol, when you drink alcohol, do not work! Parents have a responsibility to know that drunkenness, alcoholism, drug use in the future, is a small part of what will happen after the child drinks it for the first time. Parents who love their children are willing to give something that they would be proud of themselves for the health and safety of their children.
I believe that mothers have the greatest responsibility for their children in this area, because they set the tone at home! For responsible parents, it is not a big sacrifice to decide not to drink alcohol.
Research has been done on the brains of young people and the findings are that young people’s brains do not develop until they are twenty five years old. Young people need adults in their lives to be good role models. They need parents to guide them and help them make good decisions. The sad truth is that there are many parents who are bad examples and when a young person decides to live, they follow their parents.
If you are wondering about this idea of parenting fashion, think about this! How would you feel if your child died of drunkenness because they just wanted to be like you? If you don’t want them to drink, you shouldn’t drink yourself!!!!!!!
There are very successful movements today, similar to the anti-smoking campaign, which has been very successful. This movement is called “Poverty Without Drinking”. It is the result of Congress asking the National Research Council and the Institute of Medicine to review the evidence of various programs aimed at underage drinking and recommend strategies to reduce and protect him.
The conclusion of this study is simply: Alcohol consumption by young people is dangerous, not only because of the risk associated with serious harm, but also because of the threat to their long-term development and health.
I recently attended a national conference for this movement and enjoyed all the interest and excitement that was created by teaching our youth not to drink alcohol, about when they are twenty one years old. Organizations from all over the United States gathered to share what they know and their success. Good work is being done and young people are getting a real education in the dangers of drinking alcohol.
I am very grateful for everything that has been done and applaud everyone involved for their dedication and desire to save our young people.
Unfortunately, my only complaint is the lack of complaints in their plans. They don’t make it loud and clear, to young people, that they have a choice not to drink alcohol at all, no matter what their age. They are not taught, “Forgiveness is the better option!” They only advise young people not to drink alcohol until they are twenty one years old. They must believe in magic when they are twenty one. If they just choose to drink, there will be no guilt.
Why do I believe that abstinence is a better option?
Again from this study: 1/3 of young people’s deaths are related to alcohol. Underage drinking is also associated with violence, suicide, academic failure, and other behavioral problems. All these problems are presented from the early stages of youth drinking: the younger the drinker, the bigger the problem. Moreover, frequent drinking by young people can cause mild brain damage. A young man who starts drinking at a young age is four times more likely to develop alcoholism than someone who waits until an older age to use alcohol. Almost 14 million Americans use alcohol or have developed an alcohol addiction.
My argument for supporting parents who choose not to drink alcohol is personal, but it comes back to the study. He said that the patterns and consequences of youth drinking are related to all the patterns and patterns of drinking in society, and they are affected by the same factors that affect the patterns of adults eat. From this point of view, it is possible to say that the best way to reduce the impact and negative consequences of youth drinking is to reduce and the consequences of adult drinking. alcohol. It is true, however, that Congress planned for a youth drinking committee, rather than creating a strategy aimed at adult drinking. This is what the crowd did.
The study can be read at http://www.national-academies.org (Reduce Non-Drinking)
Research shows that the best way to help our youth choose not to drink is to teach adults not to drink! It works with smoking and I believe it can work with alcohol! It’s sad that they haven’t focused yet.
Why do I think parents should choose not to drink alcohol?
1. Role models are the best teachers.
2. Both models do not work.
3. Telling a child that they should not drink until they are twenty-one is a temporary and potentially harmful way to teach them that drinking alcohol is a good thing. What happens when they become twenty one, and they choose to drink and ruin their lives? The first drink can be the beginning of alcoholism. Fifty percent of people who drink alcohol in their family can make alcohol. It can also be a DUI, at any age, as well as all other criminal offenses when people are intoxicated.
4. Why teaching our children not to drink enough water is a bad choice! Because the culture teaches, “It’s OK to drink alcohol.” There is no safety in teaching fit. The only safety is in teaching abstinence. Also, if you are trying to save your children from the damage alcohol can do and you drink in moderation you support the alcohol industry by giving money to their products. Are you not allowing the alcohol industry to continue their mission to make money, so they can continue to destroy our children, and families?
There is also another argument. It is thought; if children are taught to drink at home they will be more responsible. This may be true in some cases but in European countries where this is done, the study shows that these countries are worse than the United States in terms of risk factors for young people to drink. Also, underage drinking is a crime and if you encourage your child to drink alcohol you are breaking the law!
Many churches have taught reconciliation and are now paying the price. They have an alcohol problem in their congregation. Some of them have struggles with alcoholism, themselves.
5. As parents, we need to teach our children how to use the abilities, gifts and talents they have been blessed with and encourage them to reach their goals and potential. . What will they do if they use temporary devices to control their lives or avoid growth? If they think they need to drink alcohol to have fun, solve problems or escape from the situation, they will not see their potential. They will not be able to develop the skills needed to enjoy life to the fullest. Children need to see adults who complete their lives without a pool of alcohol. They need to understand that life is complete, fun and fulfilling without alcohol.
We love our children and we want to give them a healthy lifestyle, which they can be proud of, all their lives. We want to do everything we can, as parents; to make sure they have the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest. We want them to be safe and healthy. **** Good parents set a good example for their children ****
6. Parents who drink alcohol during pregnancy can give birth to a child with fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) or fetal alcohol effect (FAE). Children with FAS can have autism, facial and body abnormalities, heart defects, behavioral problems, short stature, and low birth weight.
In conclusion, choosing not to drink alcohol is a choice parents can make for the success and happiness of their children and for themselves. If our children are ruining their lives because of their choice to drink, you can be sure that your life will be a mess too!
Why am I saying this? None of us are immune from the ravages of alcohol. Alcohol has affected my family too. My grandfather and father were alcoholics and each died at the age of 57 after ruining our lives when they were drunk. I started drinking when I was young but thankfully I stopped when I had children. My husband has also given up. We don’t drink alcohol but have found that abstinence is a better option for our children and the results are good. In our family we do not have tragic alcohol stories about our children.
Unfortunately my extended family was not so lucky. Some parents in the family choose not to drink alcohol and others choose to be late. Some of our young people are living the consequences of imprisonment, alcohol and or drug addiction.
We have no guarantee that our children will follow our good example. Every child has the benefit of choice, but we can rest assured, if they choose to go down a bad path, we did not contribute to it and by our good example we give the way better for them to return. The Bible says: Teach a child the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.
From my own experience, I can testify that choosing not to drink alcohol has had a positive impact on my family. “It is at home that we form our character.” I encourage all parents to choose fashion. It is one of the best gifts you can give your children.
