All Inflatable Play Structures Are Not Created Equal! What to Buy?

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “You get what you pay for.” Well, that statement couldn’t be more true when it comes to buying your Inflatables! In the long run, buying strictly on price alone can turn out to be the most expensive mistake you can make! Before you spend your hard earned money on a bad product, ask yourself how long you want your new Inflatables to last!

Once upon a time, all Inflatable Play Structures were built in the United States or the United Kingdom where they were first built over 40 years ago. But as with many things in life, things change. In the last five years, most American “manufacturers” have thrown in the towel and stopped making their own Inflatables. Now they are importing China made Inflatables and becoming “Made in USA” Also, a new breed of internet phonies are posing as “manufacturers” and selling “China made Inflatables” or as a distributor for some other inflatable. company importing from China.

The truth of the matter is that there are only a few companies left that still produce their entire product range of Inflatables right here in the old USA. It is more expensive, but far superior in in durability. And yes, whatever you say, there is a big difference in Safety, Quality, Performance.

Paying a little more for your Inflatables can save you a lot of money in the long run, not to mention the resulting chaos and lost customers! Buying the cheapest Inflatables can often become an expensive mistake. You have to ask yourself how much in loan income you will incur if the inflatable competition falls apart in a few months, right in the middle of your busy season. Much more than you think. And good luck trying to get it fixed in less than a month or two. (Especially if it needs to be sent back to China for repair.)

During that time, you will lose 10-15 rental equivalents from your average rental price which can cost you as much as Two Thousand Dollars or more every time your China Inflatable goes out. go to treatment. The few hundred dollars you thought you saved when you bought your China Inflatable now turns your “Great Deal” into the most expensive Inflatable you’ll ever buy!

Most of the Inflatable Manufacturers take the easy way by providing jobs in America and go the cheap way by making our products overseas. And while it may be more profitable to do so, you will pay the price in the form of poor quality raw materials and poor workmanship. You can’t control Safety, Quality, and Production Time if your products are produced in the world.

Most of the US Inflatable Manufacturers started cutting corners by buying cheap plastic, cheap thread and single stitching. They cut corners on many safety features to save more money. They don’t have liability insurance and so you are left to fend for yourself in the event of a faulty product.

Before you decide who you will buy from, you must ask all the right questions, then consider all the facts, features, and benefits of doing business with all the companies you are comparing and resist the temptation to buy on price alone. As one trusted advisor told me, “A smart investment is something you’ll think about years down the road.”

Questions you can ask

1) Are you a manufacturer of products on your website? (Don’t expect to get an honest answer from most of the companies you talk to.) If they say they build stuff on their website, tell them you want to go. Check out their production site in person. If they refuse to invite you to their factory, it’s because they don’t have one. You will know that you are being lied to. The next question you need to ask yourself is, “Do I want to trust my hard earned money to someone who just cheated on me? Probably not.

2) Are you a supplier? (If they are just a sales person, why would you ever want to deal with the middle man? Plus if you have a problem with your Inflatable, you won’t know who to turn to fix it. Find the real manufacturer and cut out. the middle man. It will save you money and all the aggravation.)

3) Where are your Inflatables? – In America or abroad? (Ask evidence) Can I visit you?

4) How long has your company been producing Inflatables? (Anything less than 5 years old can be problematic.) Ask for 5 records that have been purchased from them in the last 6 months and contact each one. You will learn a lot.

5) Is the plastic used in your room made in China? (Most companies use cheap Chinese vinyl with lots of “fillers” in it. The vinyl won’t last long, be careful!)

6) Are your Inflatables double stitched from top to bottom? (If not, you’re in big trouble.)

7) What stress areas of your living room do you support with webbing or plastic? (If they refuse or stumble to answer this question, they probably won’t strengthen their units. No reinforcement means trouble.)

8) Do your rooms have drains under your bed to drain excess water if the room gets wet? (If not, good luck getting your room dry in less than 8 hours which means more trouble for you.)

9) How many deflation tubes, flaps or zippers are there on your room? (The more the better for faster removal and easier roll.)

10) How much do you weigh? (The heavier, the more men it takes to set up which means more labor costs and less income per rental.)

11) What is your warranty?

12) What is the warranty of your machine, 1 year or 2?

13) Will you write that if I have a warranty issue, you will pick up two ways of shipping? If they don’t have two-way shipping, they don’t have confidence in their products.

14) If I have warranty issues with my home, where do I send it for repair? Should I return the house to you or someone else?

15) How long will it take to heal? (If it takes more than 1 week – there goes your “Great Deal.”)

16) Will you write that if it takes more than 1 week to fix, you will pay all my rent? (If they don’t, you’re in for a big financial loss because of the loan default. So much for buying at that price alone.)

17) Can you prove to me that your company has Safety Insurance? Please fax me proof. (If the company you buy your Inflatables from can’t prove that they have Safety Insurance, you should move to another company. In fact, why would you leave put yourself in a position where you could be held financially liable for faulty products? That would be a dangerous position to be in, and a lawsuit could put you out of business. !)

18) Are your inflatables certified by a registered engineer to meet or exceed all ASTM standards? (If they say yes, ask them what ASTM stands for. If they can’t tell you, look! ASTM stands for – American Society for Testing and Materials. Most Chinese Inflatables are not designed for ASTM Standards.)

19) If I go online to check and see if your Inflatables are approved and registered as a business in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, what will I find? (These are two of the most difficult states in the country for a manufacturer to obtain a license in. They have the strictest regulations in the country and eInflatables has its finished product of more than 200 Different Inflatables are certified in two states. If they are not. certified to do business in those states, their Inflatables may not comply with US Federal Safety Laws. — Look!

20) Is their safety manual provided for your units and do they comply with ASTM Standards? (If not, you will once again put yourself in a dire financial situation in the event of an injury or lawsuit.)

21) When I receive my Inflatable, is your company’s name on the safety label that is sewn into the unit? (If not, they’re just a distributor) If they don’t say, ask, what company name will be in the room? Where are they? (The name of the security policy should be the manufacturer.)

22) Does your bounce house have a fixed roof or is it a removable (replaceable) roof? (If the roof is not sewn permanently, you run the risk of the child climbing and getting hurt or the sun hitting the children while they are playing. In addition, you will have a lot of cleaning more of your house because leaves and debris fall in.)
