Child Behavior Modification – 5 Thinking Errors Kids Make

Thinking mistakes are exactly what they sound like – mistakes in thinking that are repeated time and time again. They differ from mistakes in the fact that mistakes are once mistakes. Adults make mistakes all the time – for me, it’s worth doing something I want. For example, I have tried to pay some bills, and therefore have made sure not to spend money on unnecessary things. I did a very good job at that, and yesterday I said to myself “You did a good job of not spending money that you deserve the benefit of a latte from Starbucks”. That’s wrong thinking – it’s true that I want a latte, when in fact that will spend money instead of saving it!

Children are not named because of misconceptions. They get into trouble when these wrong thoughts, or “negative thoughts” as I’ve heard it called, make them tense, take risks, and try to control others. I have a son described as “T”. He constantly justified his actions and behavior through delusional beliefs, which were mostly absurd as far as we were concerned, but made it perfect for him.

What are these misconceptions? James Lehman, the founder of Total Transformation, gave us a list of 5 of them in one of his articles.

  1. The victim stance. Nothing was his fault. This is one of the most common misconceptions that young people use to justify their failure to fulfill their responsibilities. Most of the time, this is just the officer leaving because the job they have to complete is too difficult, boring, or stupid.
  2. Inequality. Maybe they just think that no one is like them. They don’t need to study to pass the exam. He will not be tempted to drink if he goes to a party where other people are drinking. They think they are special.
  3. Individual training. This is when your child really bothers you and fights you so that you don’t dare him in the future. Temper tantrums are good for this – door slamming, yelling, swearing – all things that parents don’t want to experience. So instead of you not training him to solve the health problem, he is training you to leave him alone.
  4. lying and cheating. Actually stacking and partialization are 2 ways they do this. The true stacking gives you the truth, but stacking them in an order that justifies their behavior. Partialization is when they just tell you half the truth, or do half the work, like in homework, then tell you they did it.
  5. Changes. Your child makes you defensive by asking you a question when you ask him one. It’s meant to throw you off track, and it often does.

There are five examples of “stinking thoughts” that seem very difficult, but children can do the best at simplicity!
