Arnold, Frank Zane, Bob Kennedy, And the Importance of Enzymes In Your Diet

A few months ago I was passing the MuscleMag office in Mississauga, Ontario and I ran into advertising legend himself Bob Kennedy. Of course it’s exciting because Bob Kennedy has been publishing health and wellness magazines for over 25 years. In fact one of my happiest moments in my bodybuilding career happened when I wrote in the Canadian Corner nearly 10 years ago when my photo appeared as the winner. at my state tournament.

I will always be grateful to Bob’s sports publications for giving me so much and helping me realize one of my first big dreams to have my beautiful picture on the pages of his newspaper.

Amazingly enough, nearly ten years later I met a man who was around the best of the best in the body.

Bob the tall man appeared older than the smiling photo I saw in the editorial section of his new REPS magazine. He told me that he started REPS as a way to bring the body back to the Golden Age Physiques of the 60’s and 70’s when health and fitness were achieved without large levels of pills taken by modern bodybuilders.

This is of course the age often referred to as the Golden Age of Bodybuilding. Legends like Arnold, Frank Zane, Franco Columbu, Robby Robinson and the whole gang can be found sunning themselves on Venice Beach or giving a hard workout in Joe Gold’s gym in Venice.

I listened as Bob was still excited about the metal as he recalled the conversation he had the night before with the Legendary Frank Zane.

Bob laughed happily as he recounted how Frank was on the phone talking about bodybuilding, how he was doing it and where he was going. I thought to myself, “Gee, imagine that Frank Zane called you to shop for hours. Most men would kill to just shop with Frank for 10 minutes and here Frank is calling Bob.” talk about Bodybuilding for hours for free.

Same thing took over and before you know it Bob told me about the insight that Frank had about Arnold and the rumors that Arnold had been told by his doctors that he couldn’t train. anymore because of his heart problem.

Well I’m not in a position to comment on whether the post is true or not Frank sent some firsthand experiences with Arnold back when they used to hang out at Muscle Beach in the 70’s.

Frank tells Bob that Arnold is a big eater, and eats all kinds of junk food during the holidays. Of course during the meal he was focused only on Arnold but Frank was sure that Arnold would love the scarf wrapped in fried food, and sweets. Other bodybuilders will try to follow Arnold’s plan and just wind up fat, out of shape, and generally confused.

Arnold is blessed with a fast metabolism and he is also known for his incredibly high levels. He would regularly train 4 plus hours a day to get away with junk food back when he was young, and apparently had no effect on his body.

Even after his body building career ended, Arnold continued his hard life as a movie star, businessman and now Governor of California. Although no one would consider competing Arnold’s achievements, because he is an inspiration to all bodybuilders who have picked up a barbell, Arnold’s famous body has degenerated perhaps the most what it should be for a person of his age and physical ability.

The question is why? How could something like this happen to the Greatest Bodybuilder of All Time?

Part II Enzymes, Metabolic Damage -Effects of Malnutrition

Frank believes that Arnold’s neglect of a clean diet has had an effect on his metabolism. He told Bob Kennedy that he thought the whole diet was bad, having some effect on Arnold’s enormous physical potential. Eventually, Arnold’s body began to show signs of wear and tear. His genetic heart condition required surgery, which forced Arnold to cut back on his training efforts and focus on cardio vascular training.

It seems life has done the champion the worst of them all by not allowing the 7-time Mr. Olympia comes from training at all, even though he is still a young man of 60 years.

Frank also confessed to Bob that he finds it harder and harder to get the best pictures every year because his body just doesn’t respond to training the way it used to for the past 10, 20 or 30 years. come Although Frank is a little older than Arnold he still manages to be cool for a man of any age, and always knows to keep a careful eye on everything he eats.

Bob asked me what I thought of the two cases and I quickly pointed out that both Arnold and Frank were suffering from the same problems, just in different ways. different. Bob quickly agreed and added, it is called the “AGING PROCESS”. Which of course garnered a round of laughter from everyone present as most of the people around when the conversation can be interrupted.

I chuckled too but quickly added… “Well, I believe what you said is true Bob but have you ever thought about what causes Aging?”

Bob looked at me with a little effort before asking, “What do I really mean.”

Thinking that this is my time, I gave the lowdown as quickly and as quickly as I could about the research by Enzyme Pioneer Dr. Howell and he discovered that the rate of aging is directly proportional to the total Enzyme capacity of any one. disease.

Chapter III What are Digestive Enzymes?

You find enzymes regularly in food, whether it’s fruits, vegetables, even meat that occurs in Nature. Digestive enzymes are required for digestion and digestion of food and fall into the 4 main digestive enzymes and all groups of other enzymes and enzyme precursors. Sucrase and lactase are a few that you may be familiar with, mainly because some people can’t digest food because they don’t have these enzymes.

Protease – which breaks down protein

Amylase – which breaks down carbohydrates

Lipase – which breaks down fat

Cellulase – which breaks down cellulose in vegetables (which is fiber)

There are also many other enzymes such as

Sucrase – which breaks down sugar (Sucrose)

Lactase – which breaks down lactose (milk sugar)

And the list goes on with other enzymes, enzyme precursors and so on.

Research has shown that any food that is heated above 118 degrees loses all of its enzymes. In other words, all cooked food is devoid of digestive enzymes.

Processed foods, non-irradiated foods, foods grown with pesticides, fertilizers, or in mineral-free soil all contain naturally occurring enzymes.

Our body is designed to recognize the taste of enzyme and nutrient-dense foods by looking for foods that are easy to digest, and taste sweet. Anyone who has eaten vegetables or fruits from an organic garden or farm will quickly attest to how different foods contain different nutrients.

You see nature designed our food to break itself down in our intestines, however today’s man has defied Nature’s way and started eating foods that don’t have enzymes.

Humans are the only species on earth that cook their own food. Humans are the only species on earth that put chemicals in the soil to grow food, or spray pesticides on food, and we are the only species that cook food with chemicals, additives, products sugar, food, or bad genetics. change the food.

The bottom line is humans are fighting over 4 Billion Years of evolution. Now the important thing.

Now what does this have to do with Arnold you might say? And the most important thing is what is available to you.

Everything…
